When I bought the S2 coupé in 2003 it was bone-stock. 220 HP is nice, but wasn't quick enough for me. So a chip soon found it's way in the motronic ECU. Sadly this meant the end of the K24 turbo after the first test run. So the first turbo upgrade was due to happen. I installed a RS2 turbo on it and power went to a nice approx 280 HP. After that I entered my first drag race in holland in "zandvoort circuit". After 3 runs I burnt the stock (almost new) clutch to the afterlife. There my best time was 13.2 quarter mile time on the first go. Not bad but that fueled my passion for more power and durability.
I sourced another engine that I could build-up with proper parts so that I wouldn't have to stop driving the S2 because it's engine was in bits. After that Cees and I were looking into fabricating special parts for our cars. Why buy it if you can make it yourself!? Cees has the privilege to work in a professional CNC machine factory. So we started to machine our bits there and assembled them later in our own workshops. Soon we had build all the parts for our cars. The black and blue S2's were build simultaneously altough mine "the black S2" was finished earlier. The specification list below will show you all the bits that were installed during this operation. After a remap from MRCtuning on the motoronic all the bits were "synced" and the power was amazing! It resulted in 530 HP and 650 NM. With that setup I started the dragrace season and managed to set my quickest 1/4 mile time with this car of 11.61 @ 196 km/h.
Drivability was still very good so the S2 was still daily used by me to go to work and weekends I would take it to the races and trackdays. The exterior was "dressed" with Rs2 bits, front bumper, mirrors, and headlights. But mainly the upgrades were pure technical.
